One evening in 2010, while scrolling through Gumtree, Alan Cooke happened upon a small piece of land. In the Swartland, on the slopes of the Kasteelberg, nestled between the giants of winemaking, Alan decided to make this farm home. Yellowwood Winery, situated at the foot of the beautiful Kasteelberg Mountain, epitomises the essence of the Swartland region. Here, custodian Alan Cooke has created a brand home for his hand-crafted wines, bottled under the Aspoestertjie label. Besides producing his own wine in the cellar, he has created a space for up-and-coming winemakers of the region to experiment and produce quality wines—Tim Hillock of Tim Hillock Wines and Donovan Rall of Rall Wines to name two.
